Dr. Heung-Jin Chung

Currently, Dr. Chung is visiting CARE as a visiting scholar. He is an associate professor of Civil and Environmental Engineering Department at Jeonju University in Korea. He received an M.S. and Ph.D. in Civil Engineering at KAIST(Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology). Before coming to Jeonju University, he spent a year as a postdoctoral fellow at the Northwestern University. His main research interests are in the areas of computational mechanics, with an emphasis on meshless method and adaptive analysis with posteriori error estimation. He is also interested in computational fracture mechanics and its application to the practical problems such as fatigue crack analysis in steel bridges.
