E-mail: fjabbari@uci.edu

Faryar Jabbari received his PhD in Mechanical Engineering from UCLA in 1986. Since then, he has been with the Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering Department of the University of California, Irvine. His research interests are primarily in control theory and its applications. Adaptive identification, robust/reliable control techniques, and actuator saturation have been the main areas of emphasis. Application areas include flexible space structures, building or bridges, flight control systems, novel actuation mechanisms, and advanced energy generation systems. He is, or has recently been, an Associate Editor for the IEEE Transactions on Automatic Control, Automatica, and Dynamics and Control. He teaches courses in dynamics and vibrations at the undergraduate level, and identification, nonlinear control and advanced linear systems at the graduate level.
